Welty Playwriting Workshop Winners Named - May 2011

Five outstanding participants have been selected for the Eudora Welty Playwritng Workshop to be held at Millsaps College June 1-4. They will each adapt a Welty short story of their choice for the stage. They include Jake Jepson, New Haven, Connecticut; Joshua Harmon, Atlanta, Georgia; Andrew Kozma, Houston, Texas; Hana Mironoff, Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Barbara St. Clair, Safety Harbour, Florida. Alfred Uhry, who won the Pulitzer Prize, the Academy Award, and the Tony Award for "Driving Miss Daisy," will lead the workshop. Uhry is a member of the Welty Foundation's National Advisory Board.
